We all know that Hillary Clinton attracts scandal like fresh cow pies attract flies. Let’s take a stroll through the fertile pastures of Hillary’s career in public service and hope we don’t step in anything.
Peer way back to the 1970’s and her work on the Watergate investigation. Her boss, Jerry Zeifman, a Democrat who served as counsel and chief of staff for the House Judiciary Committee, said that she “…engaged in a variety of self-serving, unethical practices in violation of House rules.” He’s also quoted as saying “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”
Remember “Chinagate?” In 1996, the Clinton-Gore campaign allegedly took bribes from Chinese banks and their masters, the Chinese Communists. It seems that the Chinese embassy in Washington D.C. helped siphon money into the coffers of the DNC.
Ron Brown’s body lies a molding in the plane. Commerce Secretary Ron Brown reportedly sold seats on Commerce Dept trade missions to China. Word of these and other fundraising shenanigans leaked out and the investigations were about to result in indictments. Brown publicly claimed that if he went to jail, he wouldn’t be going alone. Of course, before he could answer any questions, he was killed in a mysterious plane crash. His son later pleads guilty to money laundering.
There were to be joint congressional hearings but Democrats threatened to bring up Republican campaign issues so the hearings were conveniently canceled. Before much happened, the media got distracted from campaign scandals by a cute little heifer named Monica Lewinsky. Remember how before Monica’s semen stained dress faithful wife Hillary was on record saying that all of Bill’s bimbo eruptions were lies and rumors spread by a “vast right-wing conspiracy”?
How about Travelgate? Bill Clinton’s cousin, Catherine Cornelius, wanted a job in the Whitehouse travel office. Amazingly enough, Hillary made sure seven members of the travel office staff were fired. All these nice folks were replaced by Clinton associates from Arkansas. When Billy Dale, the head of the travel office had the audacity to complain, Hillary had the FBI investigate him. Turns out he had done nothing wrong, but just for good measure, he was audited by the IRS for the next three years.
Other vintage Clinton scandals include Whitewater, named for a shady real estate development firm in which Hill and Bill were partners. James and Susan McDougal, good friends of the Clintons’, went to jail for fraud, Jim Tucker, the guy who succeeded Clinton as governor also went to the pokey for fraud along with a couple of municipal judges. Hillary and her husband came out of the scandal with no worries. She says they did nothing wrong.
Don’t forget the mysterious death of Vince Foster Jr.
Few people probably remember the Filegate Scandal. For some reason, Hillary hired a former bar bouncer, Craig Livingstone to work in the White House Counsel’s Office. On her orders, he had the FBI send up over 900 files on various people the Clinton’s didn’t like much. The Filegate investigation and ensuing court cases went on for almost 10 years. Most people have forgotten that during those years another email scandal was uncovered. Seems that Hillary and Bill were able to cover up and suppress more than a million potentially incriminating emails that should have been handed over to Congress and Special Prosecutor Ken Starr.
It was also learned during this investigation that Bill illegally released Privacy Act protected information contained in White House files– info that was used by the Clinton’s ever-willing accomplices in the media to smear Kathleen Willey. You probably don’t remember Kathleen, one of the many women who came forward after improper sexual advances foisted on them by Bill.
Let’s also think back to Hill’s miraculous Cattle-Futures deal. How about Lootergate, where the Clinton’s, especially Hillary shipped furniture from the White House to their mansion in Chappaqua, N.Y. After public pressure, they shipped some of the furniture back. Don’t forget about convicted drug trafficker Jorge Cabrera, who made such a huge donation to the Clinton’s campaign that he was invited to the White House without any pesky Secret Service agents present. Let’s also remember Norman Yung Yuen Hsu who ran a Ponzi scheme promoter and major Democratic donor. Norm contributed an undisclosed amount to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign.
And, of course, there’s Benghazi, but as Hill famously shouted, “At this point, what difference does it make. . . !” It makes a lot of difference to the families of the four Americans killed there.
And let’s remember her State Department email scandal, and all the scandals involving the Clinton Foundation. Check many of them out in Peter Schweizer’s well-researched book, Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich.
The real tragedy is that there are far too many people who still support these people. Sadder still, they refuse to believe that they’ve been fooled by America’s foremost political grifters.
